Bukhara State Technical University
The Faculty of Energy at Bukhara State Technical University (BSTU) is one of Uzbekistan’s leading institutions in training specialists for the energy sector. With over 1,800 students across undergraduate and graduate programs—including in renewable energy, electrical engineering, and energy efficiency—the faculty plays a key role in developing skilled professionals and advancing applied research in sustainable energy.
The department hosts multiple research centers, including the Green Energy Innovation Center and the Energy Management Training Center, which focus on renewable energy device development, industrial energy audits, and dual education. The faculty is actively engaged in government-backed R&D projects and maintains strong ties with industry and international partners.

National Scientific Research Institute of Renewable Energy Sources (NIRES)
Operating under the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, NIRES was established by Presidential Decree No. 5063 (April 2021) to advance renewable and hydrogen energy in Uzbekistan. The institute conducts fundamental and applied research, develops innovative technologies, and supports policy and regulatory frameworks for the sector.
Its structure includes dedicated centers for hydrogen energy research and laboratories for testing and certification of renewable energy technologies. NIRES actively collaborates with local and international scientific institutions, contributes to investment project development, and works to strengthen education-to-industry linkages in clean energy innovation.

ideas into energy gGmbH
ideas into energy is a non-profit educational institute founded in Berlin in 2017, focused on promoting the international dissemination of sustainable energy and environmental protection technologies. The organization carries out projects worldwide, collaborating with domestic and foreign educational partners, and regularly receives public grants to support these initiatives. The institute works with governments, municipalities, associations, and companies to introduce and spread alternative energy sources in countries with high application potential. ideas into energy is the project executing agency for several major initiatives, including those under the ENABLING PV initiative.

Deutsche Energie-Agentur GmbH (dena), German Energy Agency
dena is Germany’s centre of expertise for energy efficiency, renewable energy sources and intelligent energy systems. As the “Agency for the Applied Energy Transition” dena contributes to the attainment of energy and climate policy objectives. dena develops solutions and put them into practice, both nationally and internationally. dena focuses efforts on the building, power and transport consumption sectors, as well as on issues relating to energy generation, storage, networking, and digitalisation. Dena realizes pilot projects, advises politicians, manufacturers and service providers, qualify multipliers, informs consumers, builds networks, encourages international exchanges and develops future scenarios. To do so, dena primarily focuses on market instruments and innovative business models views the energy system as a whole, because it is becoming increasingly vital to link the many different parts of the world of energy to each other. dena’s shareholders are the Federal Republic of Germany and the KfW Group.
