During the Uzbekistan Energy Forum 2023, George Kekelidze, Director of Innovation Energy and representative of the European Association for Renewable Energy – EUROSOLAR, played a central role as moderator of three expert panel sessions focused on advancing renewable energy and energy efficiency in Uzbekistan.
The discussions addressed key national priorities, including the integration of green energy into the existing energy system, the development of hydrogen strategies, decentralization of power infrastructure, and the liberalization of electricity markets. Participants included a wide range of senior representatives from government agencies, global institutions, and industry leaders.
A major outcome of the sessions was the formation of working groups, composed of professionals and decision-makers committed to pursuing practical, technology-driven approaches to clean energy deployment. These groups will continue working beyond the forum to shape pilot projects, share technical expertise, and support policy development aligned with Uzbekistan’s sustainability targets.
